Wigs for women can be custom made. All you need to do is to measure several measurements on your head such as the circumference of your head, the nape of the neck and the measurement from ear to ear. These measurements help the wig manufacturer to make a net mould that fits exactly with the measurements of your head. Then the take the colour of hair you have selected and begin to make a weft out of them, which is a tract of hair woven together. The hair can come from human hair, synthetic hair or animal hair. The wigmaker puts together a wig by sewing wefts onto the wig at regular intervals. A lace front wig or a whole lace wig has skin-matched lace attached to the edges of the nylon and has hair poking out of it so that the lace front wig looks as natural as possible. The lace is bonded to the head and disappears on the scalp. The end result is a very realistic wig.
You can use wigs for women or you can use things like hair extensions to alter the look of the hair without changing the colour, although teens often have hair extensions that are multicoloured or made from wool to look like dreadlocks. In such cases, the strands can be tied in separately into the scalp or you can use wefts of human hair or synthetic hair in order to sew in the hair extensions in a row. Several rows are done and the hair is cut and styled to blend in with your own hair. The end result is long, layered hair that matches your own hair and that lasts for several weeks or months without falling out. The extensions made from human hair should have the cuticles all facing the same direction or the hair will tangle more easily and they won’t look as authentic. |
